❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Answers to the Things Everyone Asks Early On
1. How do I know if a track is cleared for sync?
Check the metadata in DISCO — if it’s marked as one-stop and both master and publishing are controlled, it’s cleared. If in doubt, confirm with the Music Department Manager or CEO before pitching.
2. Where can I find the latest briefs or sync requests?
New briefs are posted in the #briefs channel on Discord and tracked in Monday.com. Each one includes the creative direction, deadline, and who's assigned. If you're unsure where to start, ask in the thread.
3. Who handles artist communication?
Usually the Music Department Manager or Creative Director leads artist contact. If you need to reach out directly, make sure your message is clear, respectful, and aligned with our tone. When in doubt, ask for a quick review before sending.
4. What should I do if a track sounds great but has missing metadata or stems?
Flag it in Discord, tag the Operations Coordinator or Music Manager, and hold off on pitching it until everything is complete. We only pitch fully prepped, sync-ready tracks.
5. What’s the turnaround time for most briefs?
Ad briefs: 24–72 hours
TV/film syncs: 3–10 days
Custom compositions: Varies by scope (often 1–2 weeks)
Check the deadline on the brief and use Monday to track task flow.
6. What if I want to suggest a track or artist we’re not working with yet?
Awesome — we love proactive suggestions. Share it in the #new-music channel in Discord or tag the Music Department Manager. Make sure it’s pre-cleared or reachable, and explain why you think it fits.
7. Can I be involved in creative decisions or pitching, even if my role is operational?
Yes! We value cross-functional ideas. If you have a creative instinct or idea for a pitch, don’t hesitate to contribute. Just make sure the team is aligned before sharing anything externally.
8. Who handles licensing paperwork and cue sheets?
The CEO / Manager (Orfeas) or designated Licensing contact handles sync agreements, licensing terms, and cue sheets. If a deal is confirmed, notify them immediately and provide any info they need (e.g., track title, artist, usage details).
9. How do I learn more about sync trends and placements?
We recommend watching recent ads, trailers, and series. Also check:

You can also ask a senior team member for listening recommendations or insight.
10. What should I do if I make a mistake?
Be honest, own it quickly, and ask for help fixing it. We're all human — we care more about transparency and solutions than perfection.
